History

The Delft Chinese Football (DCF) team, established in 1989, has a rich history and long-standing traditions as a football team primarily composed of Chinese students from Delft University of Technology. Over the years, DCF has become an important part of the Chinese student and scholar community in the Netherlands. In recent years, the team proudly won the Dutch-Belgian Cup in 2014 and 2024, competing against Chinese university teams from the Netherlands and Belgium.

DCF is committed to providing regular opportunities for football enthusiasts in Delft and its surrounding areas to play, connect, and make lasting friendships through the sport. The team brings together students, scholars, and professionals from all walks of life, offering a welcoming environment for both seasoned players and newcomers.

With nearly 30 years of development, DCF has grown into a well-established football organization within the Chinese community in the Netherlands, particularly in the broader area of Delft. The team fosters a close-knit, supportive atmosphere where members not only bond on the field but also help one another off the pitch. The team boasts a harmonious atmosphere, with players supporting each other both on and off the pitch. They are not just teammates but also friends who rely on one another in everyday life.

Since 1989, a group of TU Delft Chinese students who love playing football have started to get together every week to play football, which is also the original form of DCF. In addition to regular weekly football activities, the team also participates in the TUD football league every Monday night.

The team actively participates in the school’s Monday league and various friendly matches.

At the same time, the DCF Inter, a DCF sub-team, was formed with various international friends participating.

Every year the team holds a “DCF Newbie Cup” competition to welcome new students to join the team.

In 2024, DCF once again reached the top of the championship and we won the 2024 championship of Dutch-Belgium Univ. Chinese team Tournament.
